Stonehenge is a must-see for anyone visiting England. Set in a remote field in the middle of the Wiltshire countryside the stone circle is very dramatic.
I found this insect resting on a flower in Wiltshire and I have no idea whether it is a moth or a butterfly. It’s wings look like a dried brown leaf and then it looks to have a red circle with a darker inner on the outside of the wing. If anyone has any ideas about what it is they would be much appreciated.
Woolsthorpe Manor is a great place to visit while in Lincolnshire. It was the home to Isaac Newton and the orchard features the apple tree underneath which Newton discovered gravity. These pictures show the outside of the Manor house and the apple tree.
While not all insects are as beautiful to look at as bees or butterflies, this fly and snail deserve a mention as well. They were found among the plants in my garden.
A little touch of Scotland in my garden in Yorkshire with some bees enjoying our lovely purple thistles.
This is the view from my home. I am lucky enough to just have to step outside the door to see the beautiful hills and greenery of Yorkshire.
